These are the pics from this mornings hunt. The morning really sucked,we had no bird contact and the dogs got bored and started to mouse.Went back to the truck for a coffee and a break and tried to decide where to go from there. We left the truck and headed to the mowed hay fields and then the action started. My setter went on point just past an abandoned homestead.I couldn't see any birds so I let him relocate,he took two steps and locked up on point again. Then I saw him,a rooster was hunkered down and would stick his head up,then run like a SOB and hunker down again.I got him on my second shot from my 20ga. The dogs were just going crazy,it was one point after another. We picked two more birds in five minutes and I filled out my quota just as we came back to the truck. This is me with my Setter Winston and Larrys GSP Phantom. My Setter Joker on point with my other Setter,Winston honoring the point. He came by this naturally and I'm just tickled pink over that .

Cool, we dont have but a few here. And they are escapees from the places that release them for you to shoot....

That is way cool. We've got pheasant in the panhandle, but Parks & Wildlife refers to them as a "very limited resource" and I think the limit is one a day.
Thanks for the pics. Makes me want to travel to some serious upland hunting country.
