South Texas opener

Met my group in Kingsville on Thursday for the Friday morning opener. 6 of us this trip and we got limits (12/hunter/day) on Friday and Saturday and 24 on Sunday morning. 168 birds in all, only one whitewing this trip. We've shot mostly whitewing on other areas not 5 miles from this place. Heck of a trip, next year I'm taking the dog.

We cooked 40 on Friday night and 50 on Saturday night and ate like kings. Adult beverages for the after hunt party and we got an invite to a Lion's Club hunt for next year's opener. $40 gets you on 5000 acres of what used to be the King Ranch and they serve keg beer and a BBQ dinner after the hunt.

1100 miles on my new tires, but it was worth it.

I thought about ordering cigars from you, but it was way too late.

I'd have loved to have had a few for after the hunt. I used to take some to the trout fishing trip to Arkansas over Memorial Day. I'll try to remember to call you then.
