speaking of cigars...when should one invest in a humidor...I like them, but really don't know much about them....a buddy gave me about a 1/2 box of Habana's Partega de Luxe the other week...they look and taste kinda old and dry...first time I've tried them so didn't know if they were old or just not my taste

the dryness I could fix with a quick dip in a glass of cognac don't know about the taste though..plus too they are alittle big for me..I like them alittle thinner than that

STOP RIGHT THERE!!! Do not, I repeat, do not dip no friggin Habanos in cognac!!! I can put you in a humidor cheap but you need to get one immediately! Cigars are like perishable foods they require the proper storage. You would not go and buy 20 pounds of steak without a fridge would you? Tell this guy not to buy anymore Habanos until he has a better understanding of fine cigars. Until you can get a humidor get a clean piece of tuperware and get those sticks in there straightaway. Then get a paper towel and wet it. Then completely wring it out. next throw the paper towel in a sandwich (not a ziplock) bag and fold the bag closure as if there were a sandwich in it. put this "humidifier" in the tuperware with the cigars for 4-6 hours initially. The cigar will need to be re-hydrated slowly to avoid splitting the wrapper(the outside leaf). after a week of this re-hydration then yu can leave the "humidifier int htere around the clock.
