hearings? Man he has got some nerves of steel. It would be all I could do to keep from screaming at Schumer " you a--hole, how dare you challenge me on the constitution. I'm not answering s--t until you explain to me how banning all guns meets constitutional muster!!" And then Ted the philanderer asking about Roe v. Wade. I would tell him the I would not strike down Roe v. Wade so some rich young aspiring politician wouldn't have to drown his mistress to end her pregnancy. It really eats me to see these hypocrites sitting up there all pious talking down to this man of integrity. What a bunch phonies, they wouldn't know the constitution if you hit them over the head with it. Where does the constitution give congress the power to force me into federal retirement i.e. Social Security?

hate to change the subject slightly but shorthair wrote this. "It would be all I could do to keep from screaming at Schumer " you a--hole, how dare you challenge me on the constitution. I'm not answering s--t until you explain to me how banning all guns meets constitutional muster!!" the brady bill.... pushed by reagans staff member who was shot at the same time reagan was. do you even know how the voting went or do you just assume it was them democrats who voted it in? i can tell you it was a joint effort by both to get it passed. first the bill itself: Title: A bill to provide for a waiting period before the purchase of a handgun, and for the establishment of a national instant criminal background check system to be contacted by firearms dealers before the transfer of any firearm . seems reasonable enough to me , most places have to order the handgun and it would take at least a week to get, waiting 5 days for a background check isnt a big deal. if your a felon it may be though, if not it isnt a problem. now the votes, notice how convienient they voted to pass it ; house vote: YEAS NAYS PRES NV REPUBLICAN 54 119 2 DEMOCRATIC 184 69 5 INDEPENDENT 1 TOTALS 238 189 7 please take note that 54 republicans voted for it, without them it wouldnt have passed. also notice that 69 dems voted against it , most likely a deal with the republicans that did to not look bad in their states. both parties were responsible for it getting into the senate. senate vote: YEAs 63 NAYs 36 Not Voting 1 16 republicans voted yea on this bill, without them the bill fails to pass 47-52-1... think maybe both parties wanted this one and that is a fact. here are the references for ya .. www.csgv.org/research/votes/keyvotes103/103_brady_housevote.cfm www.csgv.org/research/votes/keyvotes103/103_brady_senatevote.cfm now tell me WHO is for gun control BOTH are for it. i'll add social security something we pay into all our lives, republicans want to eliminate it all together.. sure wish they had done that before the baby boomers took out 200 times what they put into it. also did you know there is a cap on it at 92,500... what that means is if you make 92,500 a year and i make 7 million we both put in the EXACT same into ss. hmmm i see something wrong there. neither party will tell you that if they only lifted the cap at say 2% above 92,500 , with the revenue (which to me isnt unfair, i pay ss tax on ALL my earnings , so should they) that the ss system would not only be solvent but would be in excess, they won't tell you all the facts just what they want you to know.

Dude.....
54 yeas 119 neas.
Democrats, on the other hand, BY FAR pushed that vote through with 184 yeas and 69 neas.
Here's my philosophy:
I typically *TYPICALLY* believe along the same lines as MOST repulicans.
I will NEVER vote for anyone who has a different view on guns and hunters rights than my own. That is my #1 deciding factor when I walk into a polling both.

I was just making a point that they lie together in bed thats all. without the republican votes it fails. see they both hope you would think like that. frankly the dems dont care because that what some of their base wants. but the republicans pulled it through knowing you would blame the dems . what a slick system they both use in an effort to pass such laws .

Mook point.......WITH the Democrats vote the bill fails.
The Republicans may contribute to the problem but the Democrats ARE the problem.
