According to Fox News this morning, our boys are pulling out of Fallujah and leaving it standing. The report said that Iraqi troops will take over for us. I have a few problems with this:
1. Why on God's green earth do we think that these Iraqi moons will get the job done and not drop their weapons faster than the French Army?
2. What happens to these dogs that killed four American contractors and hung their burned corpses from the damn bridge?
3. How does this not give a HUGE shot of confidence to the insurgents and what keeps them from pulling the same game next time?
I'm pretty disappointed in this. I think we should have first shot at these animals.

Hmm do you suppose the powers that be now consider Fallujah softened up enough for the Iraqi Army to handle? I can see the political reasons behind this because it takes alot of the wind out of the insurgents sails for the Iraqi's to be handling the problem.

Agreed Red Oak and good point. Iraqi's fighting Iraqi's doesn't keep the home team as fired up. I hadn't looked at it that way.
On the other hand I saw some footage last night of the "withdrawal." Looks like our boys were still rearranging some architecture there. ;D

We have just gotten to nice. If the decision was up to me I would tell the Irqaqi Clerics they have 48 hours to convince Sadr to turn himself in or their precious historical mosque they value so much becomes a smoking hole. He isn't all that popular with them anyway but they are cautious of him because of his merry band that is holed up in Fallujah.
From a historical viewpoint we have made some major blunders in Iraq. The Roman Empire kicked plenty of but and opperated in places that make Iraq look down right tame. When they conquered a new region they took the existing army and encorporated it into the Legions. They then sent the new recruits as far away from home as possible so they could not support any local popular uprising. While not exactly an option in Iraq by disbanding Sadams Army and forming a new one what are we using? People that couldn't even pass muster for Sadam. If so no wonder they folded up like a paper tiger under their first trial by fire.

Personally I feel that we are in a type of catch 22 situation.....
We aka the US attempt to maintain our standards...... What we have failed to do is meet the enemy at their own damn standards! They have so little regard for our lives and the lives they think are against them so why do we hesitate. I understand our premise....or what has been tried, but guess what it is not working. This is a war we are fighting and trying to uphold standards....BS, what a friggin crock IMO. War is war....lets go get em following rules and standards they do not expect ie: Their Own Damn Rules....which means no rules. We can still be the nice guy and play buy rules that they will understand that they either must, and have to comply....or die. Seems pretty cut and dried to me.... I may regret this post simply because I am all for life.....but I as many of us do here have a small child that will eventually take the backlash from this if we do not do this right!
And before anyone asks...and it is off topic...that woman from WV without knowing the story sickins me. ie: the prisoners of war story........We just do not know and cannot know the BS the government and media propaganda is putting out there for all to see.....
