Surgery is scheduled for May 25th. They will be putting in a Bovine valve. I never even knew they used cow parts. . He told the doctor that was fine as long as he didnt grow teats and shoot milk. ;D

Hopefully this will be some news to encourage you and give you and your family alot of hope! My uncle has had two open heart surgeries....had his bypass, then they replaced a ventricle with a pig valve 2 years ago. He was doing fine. That is until he had to have some dentistry work done and they did not "pre-med" him with antibiotics due to his having open heart surgery. After a bout with septicemia in the blood stream...he got better for a year. Then last week I just learned that he had his 3rd open heart surgery! And guess what? It was his right aortic valve replaced with a bovine valve! Yep! And he is doing incredibly well. If my uncle can make it at 82...with all odds stacked against him, your dad will be okay I think!! We will all be praying for for him, you and your family! God Bless! P.S. Please make sure to ask after the surgery if he goes to the dentist or anything such as that if he should pre med to avoid major problems in the future.
