this sucks!!! i was lovin' on my dog the other day and felt a lump in her belly...i lost it ...the next day before i called the vet it was gone...turns out it's not ....and to top it if the one that the vet told me to keep an eye on from before is getting bigger. she's going to be turning 10 here shortly and i'm scared to death...she's the love of my life...my first dog of my own. i don't know what to do...i know they need to come out but at her age will she be able to handle it? what if they are bad lumps...then what?? this sucks it's not normal to love a dog like this...not normal at all. would y'all say a prayer for her...i'll be makin' an appt. tomorrow for her to see her vet.

it's not normal to love a dog like this...not normal at all. I see nothing wrong with loving a pet strongly. Especially one you have had as part of your family for 10 years. Dogs especially can be very affectionate & loyal. What's wrong with feeling that toward them? I've already said a prayer. Keep us informed.

there's nothing really "wrong" with it but it's not normal to feel so strongly about a dog...i mean if a person would tell me that he/she was dying or something i'd be sad and i might even shed a tear but when it comes to my dog(s) just the thought will bring me to tears that just keep flowing....you know the kind that makes snot run down your face but you're too upset to wipe it...lol. if something is wrong or if something happens to her i will need to be institutionalized....heavily medicated. she's the closest thing i'll ever to a have to a real child...unless i change my mind in the next 6yrs which i don't see happening. see...it's not normal.
thanks for your prayers.

Hang in there Fl. I had two tumors removed from my dog and a third one came up on a toe that the vet amputated. All three were malignant, but the good thing is that they seem to come up quick on dogs and so they are found early when they can be removed before they get bad. My dog also had a "fat tumor" on her belly for the last 5 years of her life and it was completely harmless.
I'll send one up for y'all. Keep us updated. It's a terrible feeling and the results took about a week to get back, but the vet got all of the cancer evey time.

You and Dakota will be in my prayers. Please keep us updated when you can. As some one already mentioned it is not unusual at that age for a dog to develop fatty tumors that are almost always benign. Hang in there my friend. Ya know you can call if ya need an ear. My Dakota is a male wolf/hybrid, he has had 3 fatty tumors for several years and is doin just fine. I know its hard but try not to worry. And NO, I do not think its abnormal to love your pets that strongly.......

ps-sh,she's just a lil thing...think she's 45lbs...she may have hit 50 but not sure.
i hope they are fatty tumors....they said the last one was a cyst.....well that's what they said it was and it turned out to be a tumor...not a bad one so i'm hopin' everything will be ok.

Please keep us posted. Sometimes if they are fatty tumors they can re-absorb into the body and no surgery is needed. At her age I'm not sure though. My prayers are continueing. Hang in there!

my poor lil baby made it thru everything....it was awful at midnite when i got home...they removed 3 but forgot one and i'm not a happy mommy at all. it's only the lil growth in her ear but that's not the point...they ALL should have been done while she was under cause she's not going under ever again. the lumps that were removed were either cysts or a fatty tumor so that was awesome news. cried while i was waitin' to hear out of fear and then was cryin' tears of joy when i found out they weren't bad. she'll be going back next week...unless she scratches one open...she's tryin' her damnest but hasn't succeeded yet. thanks again for all the thoughts and prayers.
