I'm kinda pissed about last years outcome of my bowhunt camp so this year is GOING to get bloody. I am giving yall fair chance to get one on the ground before next Wed. because that is when I am leaving to go spill some blood. I cannot be responsible for anything that happens after that....only the fact the there WILL be massive amounts of blood poured out on the leaves. Go get em while you can because I plan on doing my part to make the whitetail deer an endangered species.

I'll draw the line at spots and knots....other than that they will be fair game.

48 hours and counting....
I went up Saturday to scout and fill feeders. I saw 6 deer total, 4 bucks, one was a sure 'nuff good one (heavy horned 17", not sure how many points), one was a forked horn with a 14" spread, a spike and another little forked horn. My bear has been at it again, he has destroyed one feeder site. I still haven't made up my mind if I am going to shoot him or not if the opportunity presents itself. I'll make that determination when the moment arises. I'd like to shoot a bear, I'm just not sure what I would do with it once I did.

Good luck man. It's supposed to be a balmy 86 degrees Saturday, but I'm hitting the woods again. I actually think it's better when season don't open until October anyways.

In a one word description...........HOT I got home last night from and sad to say it is now two years in a row I failed to spill blood at bow camp. I had two opportunities that looking back I should have taken. Day One (Thursday) At first light I saw a doe pass by at 30 yds. It wasn't a perfect shot and it was still early so I didn't shoot. I feel about 80% I could have killed her if I would have shot. At 8:00 a yearling bedded down 35 yds from my tree and I watched it until about 10:00. I was ready to get down and move to another stand so I gave a doe bleat to try to move the yearling. It stood up and walked towards me and I noticed it was covered in spots so I didn't shoot it. If it would've come by Sunday morning it would have been dead...lol. That afternoon I saw a high-rack 8 pt move past my stand just out of range and the yearling again. Could've dusted the yearling again but didn't, that buck had no clue I was there so I wasn't going to ruin the spot. Saw two nice gobblers, just out of range. Day Two (Friday) Same stand as I spent Thurs. morning and afternoon on. At 8:30 the high-racked 8 pt came slipping down the trail. I was in a tree where the deer trail crossed an old logging road. He was headed straight down the trail to me. He got about 60 yds away and laid down. I waited him out until he stood up again at 9:15 and started back down the trail towards me, this was it...another 30 yds and he was toast.....then he laid down again at about 40 yds. I had a shot but he was still clueless to my being there so I waited him out again. He was bedded down the second time for only about 30 minutes when he stood up again. Perfect, I got him now.......or not. He stood up, looked back up the hill, and turned and walked away. By then it was around 10:00 and I was hungry so I went back to camp and ate and slept until 3:00 then went out for the afternoon hunt....I saw nothing. I did see those two gobblers again that morning, they busted me at 75 yds, damn those things can see good. Day Three (Saturday) Hunted all day with a two hour break from 1:00-3:00. Never saw a deer. Took a shot at a coyote at around 45 yds right at dark. It would have been a miracle if I hit it, I was pissed about not seeing any deer. Day four (Sunday) Hunted until 2:00.....saw nothing. Took a shot at a squirrel on my way back to my four wheeler, I was pissed about not seeing any deer. All in all it was good, we ate well, had good fellowship with old friends and everyone was safe. Jeff shot a doe the first morning and Paul killed a 5 pt the second morning. Randy stuck a 6 pt but we never found it, he thinks he hit it too far forward, his arrow had very little penetration and this dude can shoot with the best of them. We only found one drop of blood after a four hour search. He looked the entire next day and never found anything. Did I mention it was hot, like African hot. I would break into a sweat just walking to my stand and if I had to exert any energy at all I would be soaked in sweat. I am sure I smelled like a hog after two days, maybe that's why I didn't see anything Sat and Sun...lol. Dalton was confused when I came home empty handed until I told him I was saving all the deer for him this weekend with his muzzle loader.

Too bad you didn't stick one,but at least you were seeing game and out hunting with friends and or family.I'm getting to the point where I don't care if I kill an animal.I just enjoy being out and having a good time.
