FL, give us your arrow length, and draw weight, and we'll tell you what size you need. No matter what arrows you get, you are more than likely going to have to cut them to the correct length. On a side not, I typed Redhead in my search page, and you wouldnt believe the sites that were popping up. I might have to investigate this a bit further. ;D ;D ;D

Yup,you have to have them trimmed but you can buy them pre fletched if you don't mind the colors they have in stock.

Ok FL, I have checked every place I can think of, and can not find any carbons that you can order with 3" fletching. For what its worth, I would use the easton shaft chart, and order the shafts that you want. Also order a pack of 50 feathers or vanes, what ever you prefer, and have your local dude fletch them up for you. If you get the bare shafts, it will probably be cheaper to have fletched, because they dont have to remove the other fletching first. I would bet your local archery dude will have the fletching you want on hand, and it wouldnt take long to get them done.

but which shafts?? doesn't weight or grain or something like that affect things??
and the fletching isn't really that big of an issue....i have to use the 3in. cause of the size of my bow and because of my whisker biscuit.

The ones you are currently using are 9.5grn/inch.
I dont see why the fletching length would effect the use of the whisker buiscut, I would think the height would matter. I would try the same arrows that you have, with the 4" vanes, and see if it effects the flight. Does the archery shop near you let you try things before buying? If they will, try a bunch of them and see what flies best.

What size heads? I promise not to make any smart remarks about your whisker bisquit.... You should beable to set that bisquit up to clear a 4 inch fletching.

Changing arrows won't change these requirements. Stuff happens and you have to fix it. Whisker bisquits are going to tear up some fletchings. Got to happen. What I do is buy a dozen, separate out the great shooters with broadheads and put them aside. The worst ones become my practice arrows. The next time I buy a dozen I keep the best 2 or 3 hunters from the last dozen in my hunting collection. I then sort the new dozen, again setting aside the best for hunting and using the rest for practice. Get them refletched the same way every time and you should have no problems, but always test to be sure.

Hey Fl, can you move your wisker biscuit forward any? a 4" vaned arrow is more stable in flight. I can't understand why you can't use the 4" vanes, unless you have an extremely short brace height, and it would have to be really short-short. ;D

it's moved as far as it'll go... here's a link so you can see what it looks like if that'll help.....it's the only link that i can get to come up here at work....we have some sort of software in place that won't allow us to look up anything that has to do with weapons....security reasons i guess. www.sbtoutdoors.com/spydersc.htm

Something just isn't right. That's plenty of brace height to install a rest like the WB. You need to mount in a different hole or have a hole drilled or something. They do make a couple different style brackets for those things. Maybe you just need a different bracket? ALTHOUGH.... if you're getting good arrow flight with the 3 inch... what does it matter... except you can't buy ready made 3 inch fletchings. A pro shop that knows their stuff will probably put the vanes on more secure than a ready made anyway. Have you trimmed away some of the Whiskers on your bisquit? Most everyone I've talked to that has one does that. THey trim from the backside and trim off the back bristles. Here are a couple links. The first is 5SHOTS words of wisdom on the whisker bisquit. The second is a link to the Carolina company that makes them. If you browse around all the buttons and tech tips you'll find some helpful suggestions such as quieting noise, fit etc. www.broadheadtests.com/arrowrests..htmlwww.carolinaarcheryprod.com
