I practice about once a week. If I shoot too much I start picking up bad habits.
I have a 3-d target and a rag bag I made myself. I shoot from my porch or a 15 ft ladder stand in the back yard.

I shoot most every day during the off season but don't practice to much during the season although I do generally shoot 1 arrow for practice before I go to my stand. Also lets me know my bow hasn't been knocked out of whack.

Well, I tell ya'. It's like this. Not enough. I start whacking a bunch of target hard about Feb or March and shoot right up to the season. However, when hunting season comes I just kind of forget to shoot much. When I bought my last bow I went from 76 to 68 pounds. Those few pounds have made a world of difference in pulling, holding etc. My daily life keeps the muscles in tune enough to hang in there. When I was newer at the game I couldn't have gotten away with it. But when you've shot competitively, shot for 33 years, killed several dozen deer.... it's just like riding a bicycle. It all just happens. I just go out once in a while now and fling a few arrows. Like last week or maybe the week before I tuned some broadheads. I checked my sites Sat and threw a few arrows. But generally I slack off during the season.

I try to practice as much as possible. I want to be confident enough in my skill to know I can make a kill shot when the time comes. I would hate to make a shot and wound a deer and not be able to find it.
