Did you try the smoke away --- How is it going -- did you quit smoking yet? ---- Just wondering if it worked for you.
I might try something like that smoke-away stuff.

I need to as well. There is a new candy called Commit made by the same people that make the Nicotine CQ stuff and the gum that I may try.

I know.....I can't either.
I love everthing there is about smoking.....from the time the plastis comes off the pack to putting out the butt. The smell of a fresh pack is like opening a can of coffee.

Count me in. Took my dad hunting today, first time in 10 years he has gone still hunting with me and he couldn't walk 200 yrds to his stand without stopping twice to catch his breath, then had to get down after a couple hours to go back to the truck and get his oxegyn. I knew he was in bad shape, one lung and just getting over pnumonia in November but man I sure don't want to wind up not being able to do what I love because of cigaretts. I made up my mind today to finish the ones I have and give it up. Good luck to all of you

The motive for me quiting. ---- My grandson.
You see, We do a lot of ice fishing. When it get's down into the single digit's and 20 mph winds we use an ice house.
Last weekend we set up and started catghing perch. I'm smoking the cig's at a pretty good pace.
After an hour or so Chris ask if he could open the door a little to let the smoke out. His eyes were watering---- He has a touch of asthma.
We will be going ice fishing Sat. morning. --- The damn cig's are not going.

We are here for y'all. I did it and I know y'all can too.
Make a list of the positive things about quitting. The money you will save. At the time I quit I was spending $700 dollars a year on cigs and that was before the big Clinton tax increase.
The change in the your health and the way you feel in the morning. I swear over half of the agony of a hangover is caused by the excessive smoking you do when drinking too much. You wait and see if this ain't true!
You won't be a second class citizen anymore, forced out in to the cold and rain to smoke.
You won't have to volunteer to drive when you and some friends are going somewhere so you can smoke in the car. I used to do this all the time as all my friends are non-smokers.
Or if you're on a trip with non-smokers you won't have to try and get caught up on your cigs every time the car stops.
The list goes on and on. You don't even realize that smoking cigs dictates your whole lifestyle until you quit. I'll think of some more positives and post them.
I really want to see y'all quit and I know you can do it. Believe me when I say I really enjoyed smoking cigarettes but I enjoy being free of that burden even more. I do still enjoy tobacco now and then in the form of a cigar, which I am extremely careful not to inhale so as not to start that nicotene addiction all over again.

I love all the talk of people quitting...I quit on 3-24-2002 and haven't looked back. However, I did try to quite a number of timews before that and wasn't very successful because of one thing....... I just don't think I was really ready to quit !!!! Of you are having second thoughts about quitting or doing it half heartedly, you may as well not try to quit at all at this moment in time. You REALLY, REALLY want to quit for it to work. I've been there and done that. The last time I really wanted to quit...I was tired of waking up with the wheezing in the chest, not being able to walk the hill into deer hunting with out stopping 4 times to catch my breath, the MONEY , geez, I wish I had all that money that I spent in 30 years of smoking !!!!! The kids couldn't stand to be in the same room when I was smoking !!!!! If that doesn't open your eyes !!!!!
I'm here to help anybody who wants to quit, but you had better make up your mind that this time your going to quit !!!! BTW, I used the patches for 3 weeks !!!!!
