And your SURE there's no governor on it? Only other thing I can think of is that its not getting enough air, or fuel. Maybe a bad filter. My truck did that a while back, and the fuel filter was almost plugged.

Hi All, Err but why do you need to go 92mph? Sounds like fuel starvation!

THE SPEED LIMIT IS 70 BUT WHEN YOU'RE PASSIN' ON 95 YOU NEED TO DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO GET AHEAD. ;D ESPECIALLY WHEN RUNNIN' LATE FOR WORK. ;D

If the truck is anything newer than a 92 model it has a governer on it. If it was the fuel filter you see this problem anytime you were on the high end of the rpm's. You could check it by putting the truck in low and running the rpm's all the way ( be careful not to pucrap too hard you can blow the motor) up and see if it does it then.

What SH said. My dad said he found out his Chevy has a chip in it that won't let it go over 90-95. He was out on the flat & wide one day and decided to see what it would do.
I couldn't believe he admitted that to me.

The cat converter made my 97 Dodge Ram do exactly that but at speeds of 55-75 mph. It was covered by warrenty.

If you got your previous truck used the prior owner probably had the chip replaced.

All newer fords have a thing they call a rev limiter. on the rangers it is set at an RPM that equals out to about 92. The one on my f-250 is set at 105 and the harley edition f-150 my dad had was set at 130 . His new 03 ranger is set at 92 like yours. It doesnt shut the engine off, but it only lets gas be supplied to everyother cylnder, it feels like its skipping really bad with the bigger motors. I think dads ranger just felt like it died out.
