Start saving up to join a lease. That place is the biggest Peyton Place I have ever heard of in my life. You have problems anywhere you go but my experience over the years being in clubs seem way more peaceful.

Let me throw a new twist on y'all. On Mondays Wednesdays and Saturdays truck loads of hunters ride around our club with their shotguns brandished (all unloaded of course) sticking out in all directions. Are we unethical?

As long as you are within the legal confines of your State law, there is NOTHING wrong with riding around with guns! Like I said, I keep a .30-30 loaded in my truck when I am on my property. If I see a coyote, I don't have time to undo a gun case, fumble for shells and get a steady aim before he's gone. As long as you are not poaching, you're ethical.
That's my opinion.

Do like DS said and whoop his ass! Sounds like a trouble maker to me. But you were in the wrong driving around with a gun barrel out the window even though maybe no laws were broken it just makes all hunters look bad if some antis seen that they would lump all of us together (IMO)

Why?
Why is it bad to drive around (NOT IN THE CITY, OF COURSE) with a gun barrel hanging out the window?
I could care less about what the "anti's" think about me or my love of free time.
That's like covering up a kill so as not to offend anyone on the way back home. That "PC" crap wears on my very last nerve.
The "anti's" do not dictate what I do in my daily life. The Bible, Federal and State laws do. In that order!

The Bible, Federal and State laws do. In that order! Why you ask if I read this thread right she is worried about what was written right? If it wasn't wrong or doesn't look wrong then why did she get mad at what was written? One other thing if I read the post right was this was on public land (State land) I think. How many people are out their not knowing if this gun is loaded or not. I do know in Fl it is against the law to drive around with a loaded gun barrel out the wondow. But how was anyone to know if it was or not. If this was private land by all means drive around how ever you want but I think this was public land which means that we have to obey the laws written or just good comman sense. The state of Fl says that a ML is only considered loaded when capped with primer! Ultimately it has to do with what you think is right or wrong and nothing more. Are you a moral person with good ethics? It comes from the heart not just saying you are but being one. It's funny how so many people will have different views on this. It just goes to who you are and if you believe in right or wrong. I believe that it was wrong to drive with a gun barrel out the window loaded or not. I wouldn't do it if I even owned a piece of land but that is just me. I wouldn't want to look bad or give the impression to be maybe doing something that wasn't in the up and up but that is just me.

Public land.....Hmmmmm.
In Texas, it is against the law to have a loaded gun in the car on public land. Like I said, as long as you are within the confines of the law.....
And you are right......there will be several different opinions on this topic. As long as they are ethical (perceived) and legal, there is no wrong answer.
It's like the post someone made earlier last week or so. Is it ok to "poach" an animal if you are in need to feed your family? I personally do not think that should be a violation of the law. You have the right to make sure your family eats.
Good food for thought. (No pun intended)

I think H4F1 stated it right here. In Wisconsin a weapon must be UNLOADED and ENCASED while in a vehicle. You can't even lean an unloaded, uncased weapon against a vehicle in Wisconsin, this is cause for a citation....been there, done that, not by me, but by a member of my hunting party. Wisconsin is poretty strict with these laws and the Department of Natural Resources will fine you big time.....they have more authority than the local police around the state !!!!

well i'm glad i live in florida. and i don't want to "whoop ass" i just want the jerk to back off and grow up. i don't feel as though i was wrong...if anyone was wrong it was hm because it was her gun and it was leaning out her window...and he should have addressed her and not me. i was within the laws plain and simple but he took it upon himself to intentionally dog me out and now doesn't have the balls to admit he was wrong.

;D ;D ;D i'm doing a lil dance and too bad y'all can't see cause y'all would be rollin'....lmao i just got off the phone with fish and game and we did NOTHING illegal whatsoever....it may not have been the brightest of ideas because if it had been loaded the gun could have gone off but since there were no bullets there wasn't any chance of that happening. it does NOT have to be in a case while on wma's. ;D ;D ;D
ps-in re: to hm's muzzleloader........ i understand that the cap has to be on but my point was that she had a gun that was not in the case...and he didn't say anything....matter of fact i think it was leaning against the seat...similiar to how it was when she was in my truck....just not partially out of the window.

doin' that dance again. ;D just got a call from hm....hee hee giggle giggle....she just got done speaking with one of the game wardens and he said that we did NOT do ANYTHING wrong. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-mr.troublemaker can bite his own ass. ;D He was WRONG....WRONG......and WRONG!!! ;D
did i mention he was wrong?
only thing it could be is that it COULD be a safety issue but seein' as she had controll of an unloaded gun she was in the right and not unsafe...per local gw. ;D

Why not just move up here? I can get you in Brair Creek Sportsmans Club next season and will only cost you $375 and a cattle gate(long story). We have 22,000 acres and you can ride around with a bazooka sticking out of your truck window as long as it's unloaded. If you get harassed by someone on our club and they are in the wrong we can revoke their membership. Think about it.
