Hi All, It's been a while but I picked up some different bullets to try in the .308. They are Speer 150 Grain RN and they shot very well in a friends Krico so I thought I would give them a whirl. Well the outcome is that the load using Reloader 15 that I tried is not up to scratch the best 3 shot group I got was 1 1/2". Anyway the trip was not a waste of time as I put some old loads using 165 grain bullets in the bag:- The stray shot is from some Winchester 180 Grn Silver Tip I tried. My rifle does not like it and spread it across the target . The shot low left was caused by a fellow with a dammned muzzle break firing just as I was squeezing the trigger ............. I hate muzzle breaks Now why couldn't I put #5 in with the other 3? perhaps would have done if I didn't look through the spotting scope and see the one hole group .The loads all used Reloader 15. The rifle which I brought Christmas Eve 1997.

It's not been to bad. We have spent a lot of time trying the get the garden back in shape but we are winning slowly. The weather has been strange this year like today it's sunny just now but not very warm. More like an October day than August. We had some really heavy rain just now and a bout of it earlier and it rained from about 22:45 last night to about 04:00 this morning. Luckily it didn't rain yesterday whilst I was at the range ;D. I have been doing a bit of shooting and playing with a P-H 1200V in 6mm Rem I brought last year. Took a bit of getting up and running due to it not being popular here. Had to order the cases and get the Dies direct from Lee as I got quoted 6-8 months delivery here by the importers Have not had much success so far with accuracy but we now hope that we are starting to win. It seems my old Pecar 4-10x45 scope has developed a problem and needs an overhaul so yesterday I tried an old Japanese 3-9x40 which I set on 8x and I got some groups of 1" and one of 1/2" using Hornady 87 Grn HP's over Rel 19. This is the Parker-Hale 1200V This 1200V cost me £95 ($171 US) and actually I never paid cash as we traded some stuff and I got it not long after the move. Will have to hassle the Police soon as I am starting to run low on some stuff and need my licence renewed so I can buy it. They still have not sorted it out from last October. Of course finding some work would help with the finaces. Not sure if you have seen this but I picked it up just before I moved- P-H 1100 Deluxe in .30-06 with a Tasco Titan 3-9x42 scope. Traded an English SxS ejector shotgun and came away with the rifle/scope and a cheque. This year due to a car wreck I had to sell a couple of rifles to get another vehicle after the miserly payout by the Insurance Co. My poor old Citreon BX TZD 1.7 Litre Turbo Diesel was a write off so I now have a 93 Jeep Cherokee Ltd SE 4.0. Our SE models have all the bits like leather interior, Air Con, Electric windows all round and electric seats. It 83,400 or so miles on it and due to some running around and collecting stuff from down south that was in storage still it now has 87,300 on it. Driving it carefully I have been getting 24-26MPG out of it, remember that our Imperial Gallon is 4.54 Litres so larger than the US Gallon . The 4WD should come in handy as I have verbal permission for some Pigeon (dove) shooting and to get to the fields mean using unmade farm tracks and now it's raining they will be slick. I am going to see if I cannot get the permission in writing to save any hassle with farm workers and find out exactly which fields are theirs.

Good luck man. You need to come on across the pond and be done with all of the gun hassles.

Well I should have done that back in 82 when I had the chance to get a job in Florida. I didn't have the confidence then and it's too late now. I don't have the money for such a move and what about my parents? I moved here so I could help them.!

Hi All, Well in the UK just now we are having some strange weather for the time of year. It's more like October than late August August as a month has pretty much been a wash out cold and wet. I am wondering about the young Partridge and Pheasants, this cold and wet could kill them., and it might not do the Roe Kids much good either. We have some more daft legisaltion which could have effected reloading but it seems that sense may have been brought into it at last. They only wanted to licence presses and dies utter madness. It's now a crime for kids to play with toy guns in the street, more madness. Apart from that it's not so bad Feral cats? I take it that you mean Domestic Pussies which have gone feral? if so surely something like a .222 Rem would be more than suitable:- Baikel MH18 Break Action rifle in .222 Remington. Yep I restyled the wood to a more pleasing shape (to me anyway) which also made it more comfortable for me. The wood is a real white colour so I stained it a bit then applied BLO. With some factory Sako it shoots around MOA. .308 or .30-06 is a bit of overkill on small cats I would have thought?

LOL......yeah anything more that a 20 cal. is most definantly overkill. Seems like the times I have shot at em, they were runnin animals out of my shooting lane and all I had was a 7mm. Kinda messy and it ruins the stand. I understand the new .17 cal stuff is about perfect.
So it's a bit cool there, huh? This is the first week that we have had temperatures less that 102. And usually it's been closer to 105-106 here in Dallas. Cool weather sounds like a nice relief.
Dude, you really have some nice set ups.
How do you like that Russian gun? I have almost bought one many different times and never have. I have looked them over hard and they seem to be a fantastic value for the asking price. I don't know what they sell for in the UK but they are an incredible value here.
