Anyone shot one? They have one on sale In a Weatherby Accumark. Im wondering if I need it? I want one but I dont know how bad it would kick.

my cousin looked in to buying one. a gunsmith in Perry and his sons use them. "long range target rifles 11+lbs.
he let my cousion shot one that was enought for him he said it kicked wors than his 338 mag by about 5 times
the gun smith told us that barral life was short depending on barral maker. 500-800 rounds for factory and 1000-1500 for some after market barra

Why don't you just pay someone to punch you in the shoulder? ;D
Anyway, why would you want a round that you can't walk into Walmart and get?
Senario (and this really happened to me):
Jan. 2003-
I had a pig hunt planned for months.
Was I gonna take my 7mm or my Dad's .458 Lott?
It's a good thing I decided on the 7 because when I got to Cayuga, Tx, I realized I had forgot my dry box.
So, I drove to the Walmart in Corsicana and got a box of 7mm.
Now, had I taken the .458, I would have had to drive ALL the way back to Dallas to Larry's Shooting Supplies to get what I needed.
Point is, I think you can find a more common round that performs as well or better.

Ive just been wanting something big for the hell of it. If I were to go on a pay hunt I would take a couple guns anyway, you never know whats gonna happen. Hell, I have the 25-06, 260, and AR15 in the back seat of the F-250 now...
I dont think I want anything that the barrel might be shot out in 500rnds though, most are just getting where they shoot good then.....

Its a .454 I cant remember what barrel length. I think he said 500 or 550.
