Going to sink some christmas trees soon. Mike is going to tie some bags of rice to them to try to get them in use faster.

That's a pretty good Idea even though I've never heard of anyone doing it.

Slayer --- One of the guys that fishes one of the local reservoirs puts out the Christmas trees. He tells me where they are, so I don't snag them when trolling for walleyes. most of the time I'll see them on the fish finder, but if I'm running a bottom bouncer by the time I see them on the sonar it's too late. Love hooking them 6 foot pine trees, yea!, right! Anyhow, what he uses is dry dog food tied up in a piece of burlap, two to a tree one on the top and one on the cinder block. He ties the block to the top of the tree so it's upside down in the water. he tells me that the upside down tree works better. I'm not a big time crappie or bluegill fisherman so never fish the trees for them but the old guy( yep, he's older than me ) does good. Got out musky fishing the other day - Never got a hit but had a big girl(40"+) follow a jerkbait up to the boat. Fun stuff.

Yall should have seen the boat with 17 trees in it. It looked a little full.
