I've give it up for this year, guess I'll spend the majority of my time in the deer woods.

I never quit fishing Most of the fishing equipment (fish finders, anchor, trolling motors) is off the Chrestliner, I'll winterize the Merc tomorrow and take the batteries out of it. Its put up until the March Walleye run in the river. The lake boat(my brothers) will be taken out about Thanksgiving or so. This is a pain in the azz ---- not looking forward to this task, but it must be done and done correctly. I keep a old tin boat on the water until the boat ramps freeze up or the ice is so thick that the boat can't break it. The tin boat was pulled out of the water for the last time on Dec. 26th last year. Hey, backing a boat down a ramp and all of a sudden you start sliding, you know as soon as your back tires of your truck are under water you should stop sliding but you are not sure it will. Aaaw -- Boating fun in the north. The steelheads will be in the rivers very soon. We will fish them until ice fishing season in mid January. Then it will be Perch and eye's on the ice. Now that I'm thinking about it I should get over to www.baddoglures.com and get some jigs. Hey, Got to go on over to Bad Dog and get some stuff. Later

I quit once the hunting season is open, then as soon as the water's stiff enough to walk on I'll start ice fishing.

I've been way-layed by gas prices. My fishing holes are 50 miles away. With gas at these prices I use up my budgeted gas money to quickly.

It's almost time for me to start chasing Winter cats. We'll start camping at the end of this month and continue into April.

I don't stop, I just don't get started much anymore. Most of the time that I used to fish is now spent hunting or getting ready to hunt. We've got a trout trip every Memorial Day and I tore up some white bass one day this past summer, but that's about it.
I used to not mind bank fishing so much when I lived in Central Tx. It was easier to find a place where I didn't have people sharing their music or their dogs with me. It really takes the fun out of it for me. I'd go if I had a boat but I can't afford what I want.
