Anybody here hunt squirrels with muzzleloaders? I am about to start with a T/C Seneca in .36 cal. I have not hunted them since probably 1979, then I used a .410/22 LR. Since deer season is over here, except for bow until the 31st, I figured to give them a try with the old smokepole.

i think i'd stick with my 22 over my muzzleloader but do whatever you think will make you happy and get you the best results.

Yep, I do Stevie, but you already knew that. Start out with 15gn pyrodex or equivalent. Any more poop than that and you'll rip em in half....

Oops, I guess not. I was under the assumption that there was only 1 Steve in MD... but he goes by a slightly different handle (username).. Steve I know is from Frederick, MD not Pinto, Allegany Co., MD. But, Hey, We still have something in common. Both have .36's and want to hunt squirrlies with em.. I've had the Pedersoli "Frontier rifle", sold in Cableas as the "Blue Ridge Rifle" for near 5 years now. It's a shooter! I quickly learned that 15 gn is all that is needed to pop squirrels out to 40 yds... In fact, I liked it so much that I got the exact same rifle in .50 cal for deer...4deer in two years including a nice 8pt...That old TC is gathering cobwebs now...
