Fellow members, I am wanting to train my 7 month hold rat terrier mix to hunt tree rats. Do you have any suggestions on the proper technique I should use? I was going to kill a tree rat, skin it, use the hide for drag scent, and feed my dog the meat. Would this work?

wish i could help ya but i've only trained my bloodhound and she's not the best by any means...actually she basically sucks...even though she nailed the doe's bloodtrail that i had shot during bow.....but i did train her basically the same way you want to do yours and it works....too bad it's basically only in the yard here that it works..lol.
