Has been pretty strange. I've seen does while bowhunting, but nothing close enough to shoot at and no bucks. I saw a hawg the evening before the first blackpowder season that IMO would go 160-170" and all I had was binos to watch it stand broadside at 40 yds for ten minutes! I hunted the same area until dark the next two days and never saw a deer. As for rifle season I had does all over me again just about every trip out, but no bucks once again. Some came in running and looking back and then I would see another deer thinking it was a buck only to see another slickhead. Finally on my last hunt of rifle season I heard what I guess was a buck chasing a doe ( I could hear antlers hitting brush) but I was set up in a deep hollow and it was so dark under the timber that I couldn't see no more than 50 yds and they were a little more than that. I've still got a blackpowder season and several bow hunts left so maybe my luck will change.

This year I've seen the most bucks that I've ever seen in a season, mostly mule deer but they're my favorite deer too ;D.
A couple weeks ago I was out just lookin and saw 25 mule deer doe's in one herd and only 2 small bucks with em,wondered where the big boys were as the rut was at its peak.Nobody's huntin this area so I know the big bucks haven't been shot?
My season is done as of Nov. 30,but there is a special late season archery hunt in Dec,but it's doe's only and with 3 in the freezer I don't want any more.

Last year I saw a lot of bucks, nothing big but I saw a bunch. This year I've spent too much time trying to get the sights on that big buck instead of hunting the way I normally do. I'm pretty sure he's still around because word of a buck like that being killed around here would spread pretty fast.
