Yup first deer after a 2 year drought, mainly caused from lack of hunting due to work in Atlanta. I have no pictures just know that it was a small buttonhead. He was standing in tall grass I didnt see him or his sister til' I shot at and missed momma deer, then he came bouncing through the grass, and I dropped him with one shot in the spine.

o yea we cooked the backstraps as soon as we got home, they were so tender you could pull them apart with your fingers.

its nice because 1.nobody really thinks about that tract of public land as being huntable 2.i know the lady who owns the land around it so i can use her land to access the public land and 3.i havent heard any shots from the other bordering properties, all that makes me believe these deer have had little to no hunting pressure the past few years.
