Saw this guy on thursday, had my nephew out looking for a white tail buck. He's at 190 yards, took this pic thru my bino's.He had one doe with him.On friday we went back and this buck was with three lesser bucks and two doe's.It was funny watching the little bucks try to run off a doe and the big buck would then chase off the little bucks. One small 3x3 buck was so frustrated he began to beat the hell out of the willows,we watched that for half an hour.

Looks like a good buck Blue. You still got a mulie tag left? The picture came out real good for through the bino's.

It's a decent buck but there are much bigger ones in the area.
I can only shoot doe's now and only in the archery zone.
My nephew got three shots off on a nice white tail buck.He had trouble judging the distance out on the prairie and only came close on the third shot.

Nice one for sure! I don't think I would pass him up.

A couple years ago I wouldn't pass on a buck like that but after what I've seen this year I'd pass on him.Now I just have to get drawn for the rifle season in this zone. Two weeks ago while accompaning a freind who still had a buck tag we saw a 4 point that made this buck look small.Buddy was only able to get within a hundred yards with his bow when the buck walked away.We watched five more bucks in the same area but being bald assed prairie made a stalk virtually impossible. The best way to get an arrow into these deer is to catch them in the coulees where there's more cover. This is what some of the country looks like that we hunt. These coulees are long and deep. The deer hole up in them during the day and bad weather and go out on the tops to feed in the stubble fields.
