Went out friday evening to look for deer and we weren't dissapointed.Found four mule bucks laying in a barly field, what we saw were the antler tips of a big 5x5 sticking over the top of the standing barly. We were able to get within 126 yards of them without spooking them.soon the other bucks lifted their heads and we realized there were four of them. After about ten minutes they stood up and gave us a good look. The 5x5 is at least 28 inches wide and over twice the height of his ears with long tines, the 4x4 is also nice but has some growing to do and the 3x3 is long and wide with good mass, there was also a little fork horn buck.
We left these bucks and drove around seeing three more smaller bucks and several does.Went back to Rons place and had a quick supper and headed out again.Went a mile west of his place and saw a huge 4x4 buck that made the 5 point we saw earlier look small.I saw him feeding in a barly feild at 900 yards and you could tell he was a buck with the naked eye,I'd a swore it was an elk when I first saw him. After putting the bino's on him I about fainted. This buck is Boone&Crocket grade, possibly one of the biggest mule bucks I have ever seen. He'll easily go over 30 inches wide and about as tall with very heavy mass and long tines. We couldn't get any closer to him but Ron got a good picture of him with a telephoto lens so we'll be able to see him good in the pic.We left him and headed east with about a half hour of light left and saw 13 more bucks with a couple of pretty decent 4x4's.Just at dark we saw a big white tail buck but with the fading light we didn't get a real good look at him.
I do have pictures of some of these bucks and will post them as soon as Ron sends them to me.
