Went to Cheaper Than Dirt yesterday to see about getting a new M&P 9mm.
I told the guy my problem (.45 Micro Compact is too heavy to carry fully loaded) and he suggested that I buy an "inside the waistband holster". So I did.
The issue with a traditional holster is that it drags down on the belt regardless of how much the gun weighs.
An inside the waistband holster still attaches to the belt but because it is worn inside the pant, it offers much more support.
Cost me $90 but I guess it was cheaper than a new gun.
Problem solved.
