Hi All, Some of you might know from the Hunting Shack and remember that I had to cancel a hunting trip to the US last year, well this year I made it and shot my first Whitetail Buck:- My first shot of one with the camera. My first Buck from the 2003 firearms season with a Rifle, 7x57 using Hornady 139 BTSP I hope you like it:D Well is it good enough for a first one? the Blighter was blooming heavy and took some lifting on the ATV!

Hi All, I must thank you all for such a welcome, it only just dawned upon me that I had changed the handle and I should have mentioned it, but it seems I didn't need to bother as I seem to be reconised anyway I would have come over earlier but stupid me lost the e-mail some kind soul sent me telling me where you all had gone, kept check the old site but no news then finally a post with a link from there We will have to see what the future brings on US hunting, perhaps i will get asked back, there are some real nice Deer and especially Bucks where I was hunting up in Sullivan County MO. Best one we saw was unfortueatly dead laying in the Creek, he was massive with huge antlers, we could only see one side of them as the other side was submerged under the water and mud, but the antler were about 2 1/2 times thicker than my Bucks and I counted at least 5 tines on the side we could see, he had half a hind leg missing so possible he was hit by a vehicle but he was a good distance from the highway, about400 yards through some thick stuff, we will never know for sure as he was on a sandbar in the middel of the creek so not reachable without a dinghy or canoe. The Coyotes had found him by the time we did, it was a shame to see him like that, now he would have made a dandy trophy ;D mine is nice yes but when I see what is available Phew, the head is at Achwarz studio in St Louis being mounted as a shoulder mount so some time about next August I should be able to get it shipped back here to the UK.

Hi All,
I don't know about Block, we don't go by that phrase here, but I doubt there are many Whitetail mounts in the county, or even country at that. Although they do have Whitetails in Sweden and Scandinavia I am informed so it's possible.

Ive read that they dont think much of the White Tails there though. They think of them as a nuisance animal and mostly hunt the moose?

Hey Kevin....glad you found us.
The "block" he was referring to means any given area of your neighborhood.
