Okey dokey! Peace and love my brothers. Y'all lets be kind to one another. Everybody has their own beliefs when it comes to harvesting game. Let's respect one anothers heritage and beliefs when it comes to hunting. We all come from different regions and different ways of doing business. (I deal with these issues within my own state being a doghunter) I ask that we refrain from disparaging someones hunting skills at this forum. We are not in the hunting contest business. I think we all know where to go get our fill of that type of discussion.

sounds like somebody is nothing but a head hunter. i don't know about you, but i can't come up with a good way to cook the horns. if you don't harvest enough does, the deer population will get out of hand. iowa is getting so bad that you can get only 2 anysex tags, but you can get a sh*t load of does tags. if the herd isn't reduced by atleast 25% this year, they may go to all does tags. i guess that won't be too bad, than all of the crazy rack hunters will have to go to another state. there is even a late bonus season where you can ONLY shoot does. i guess we won't have to worry about any comanches coming in to hunt then. there are plenty of holier-than-thou rack hunters on another board, maybe comanche would be more at home there

i guess i should have not brought this up but i really thought the south hunters were great sportsmen not meat hunters. i am sorry i vented my anger but the way some of you talked about was degrading to our way of hunting here in pa.this is why we have law that only bucks with 3 points on 1 side can be shot here in pa.we are sportsmen that only hunt for the challenge. i am sorry but thats the way we were raised.killing a doe was person who did not know how to hunt.i am sorry because you have the right to do what you do but that does not make me feel any better on what i read here. no i am not a stuck up horn trophy hunter, i am like you all, i likewoods and hunting . but i have a different view on does than some of you. we were raised as [hunters] sort of like the indians, they would never kill a mother buffalo only the male .why,it is a matter of skill, tradition and pride.and the one that said he had 45 deer, we once had 45 deer in a mile to, now we have 2 per mile.they are allowing out of state people in now to kill off the does.wait until you have no deer,it will happen. these type of people want meat and they will go somewhere,so i would not be bragging on here about all the does you have.trust me, they will go there.again i am sorry for venting my anger but killing a mother female deer is a terrible thing for me to respect.

That's a joke......right?
I have talked to several people in PA and almost all of them said if you don't kill the first deer that walks by, someone else will. Your way of hunting is just fine for you but don't come on here and berate the way I hunt, regardless of what region of the nation I am from.
10 years ago, my land was overrun with does. I would see 35 does for every buck I saw, and then it would be a rag horn 4pt or basket six. Well, we went out and killed the piss outta the does, I mean we really hammered em. Now we see a buck for every 4 or 5 does and always take a good buck every year since.
So, take your holier-than-thou attitude back over to HNI, they will kiss your ass there.

amen, brother 4pt. "wait until you have no deer, it will happen" never, never, never. the dnr has taken our deer #'s from pitiful, to (a little too) plentiful. there is NO WAY that the non-resident tags will result in all of the deer being gone. and i am sure a hungry indian would not hesitate to kill a doe to feed his tribe. it takes the same skills, dedication and pride to harvest a doe, as it does a buck a true hunter hunts for the expierence, and the harvest....not for the pretty trinkets to put on his wall

Hey I know, lets talk about politics that should get things cooled down. ;D Seriously I can see where my Southern brothers would be offended by brother Commanche's initial remarks. It sounded a little ugly to us Southerners. I think there was a compliment hidden in there though. Commanche complimented us by saying he thought that Southerners were great hunters and I think he's right myself. We are also stewards of the land too. We come from farmers here in the South although most of us live in subdivided neighborhoods in town anymore. We look at deer differently than these guys that make "hunting" out to be this great sport and pursuit of a trophy. We realize that deer are a crop like any other that has to be managed to produce properly. The deer are plentiful after years of good management and now deermeat is a resource just like corn or peanuts.
Let's all just say we agree that your way is cool in your neck of the woods and my way cool in my neck of the woods.
Okay!

Just for the record, I can kill bucks. Im just not egotistical about hunting and take whatever opportunity is provided. This pic is a few years old so there are probably 10 or so more racks I could add to it.
