Depends on where i'm hunting. I hunt mostly private land and the owner practices QDM. He usually tells me what to shoot.

no question, horns.as for putting meat on table.i caught a doe killer on my land and he was fined 500 dollars and lost his license and his gun to. he was charged with [poaching] he never worked and was on welfare and had over 6 deer in the freezer.he had enough food stamps they say to buy meat forever.no he had to come in on private land and kill a doe.the ones they are catching here with all that meat in the freezer are on [welfare] and dont want to work. there comment is with handcuffs on,i was putting meat on the table. by the size of some of them they need to go on a diet, oh well.

I think being in the woods is the reason I love to hunt! I will cap a doe before any buck that is under eight points. So many people are living in the days when people had no idea of how to manage their deer herds. You have to kill does for a healthy deer population. That is why they give the tags out not to exterminate them but to keep the herd in check. A healthy herd consist's of 1 to 1 ratio or as close as you can come. States with enormous deer pop. are so far from being what it should be 1 to 1 ratio it aint funny. You want a healthy deer herd on your land kill does it's a proven fact take what the law allows you and you will be both the hunter and the deer a favor!

Earlier in this thread I said meat, but upon thinking about it, I can buy meat at the market. I go out to enjoy the outdoors as much as the satisfaction of providing for my family.
