Hi All,
Well my friend and mentor Cliff the gamekeeper is off on his annual trip to Italy hunting Wild Boar, when he returns I will booking him for an outing after the little Muntjac again. Looks like before Christmas may be tight, it's my parents 50th Anniversary on the 19th so I may have to wait till the New Year like I had to in 2001.
Let's see what works out, shall we?

Hi All, Thank you for your thoughts flhuntress, I shall surely relay them to my folks, must remember to get the card ;D I am sorry to say that I am not going to Italy, this is an old long standig thing that Cliff ans some friends fro Europe do every year, last year he and his grandson shot something like 10 between them on the trip  We will be hunting Muntjac Deer again, you know those little ones  Either a Buck or a yearling Doe will be the ones we are looking for  I may try to arrange a trip after Fallow Does for the new year as well, but that will be through another source, and depends on cost. |

Hi Biggie, Now as it would not be possible to arrange a visitors firearms permit due to the short time and of course Christmas being in the way, it would not be possible for you to bring a rifle with you! Where abouts in the US are you? Can you get a flight to LGW London Gatwick Airport for the 29th? Have you checked the Doller/Sterling exchange rate? Now is not a good time for Americans to visit! very expensive just now and for one days hunting? Accomodation may be tricky finding a reasonable priced one for the rest of your stay with such short notice, it being Christmas/New year and all. What calibre do you like? Choose out of:- 308 Brno 601 7x57 BSA CF2 270 BS CF2 Stutzen 6.5x55 Mauser M96 Slide bolt 6.5x55 Carl Gustav M96/38 sporterised Now the slight probbems, as I only have a small one bed apartment, so having some one to stay is a bit of a problem. I am off on the 29th & 30th and at present I don't know what I ma working on the 28th  and I am back to work on the 31st. After New Year I have not looked at my rota yet so I don't know what I am working If you seriously want to try hunting in the UK, with more time we can work something out but please bw aware that it's expensive to anything here, for example I recently brought a box of 1,000 rem 9 1/2 primers and they cost $41:60 US a box of Hornady 7mm 139 BTSP bullets are $34:56US, the days Muntjac hunting would be in the region of $160:00 US I have not asked the actual price as I get a special rate being a friend so I have guessed as best I can with out asking, but typically a days Roe Stalking would be around $240:00 US plus a trophy fee for a Buck. As I say let me know! |

I dont think thats really overly expensive dude. I pay like $27.00 for a box of Hornady Custom 300mags here.
The by the day hunts sound almost cheap compared to alot of the hunts Ive looked into.

Hey deerslayer, I am talking about reloading components, you know just the bullet no case etc now loaded factory well, the last I brought was Winchester 30-30, 150 HP white box ammo which cost me £11:00 for a box of 20, that's $17:60 per box, now I saw Remington Core Lockt ammo for sale in 30-30 at the local store when I was in MO hunting and it was like $12:00 or so a box. Your Hornady Custom ammo for the 300 WM at last January's prices were £24:50 ($39:20) and would have to be ordered and hope that the importer has some in stock, your local shop sure won't have any:lol Oh a gallon of gas here is $6:10 |

Hi deerslayer, Now don't forget that you woudl get slightly more mileage here due to our gallon being slightly larger than yours we have 4.54 litres to the gallon But the price is a rip off most of it is Tax  |
